This is to trick people into a free ride so they can try to talk you into attending a timeshare presentation. They will call out asking if you need a ride, or some have signs with the name of a hotel, and anything else that would interest a new arrival at the airport. (you have lots of space though) They will look like they must be representative of something legitimate. A minute or two later you'll come across 4 or 5 people on each side of a wide aisle, so you have to pass through them. Maybe you already know about the timeshare sharks in the airport, but just in case you don't it's something you'll want to avoid.Īfter you're finished in Customs you'll go through a set of glass doors. The sweet bites is a new addition since we were last there and was excellent. You always get the breeze in the bar but later at night when busy it can be hard to find a seat.
The only thing I would say is that even though the lobby bar is great it would be nice to have another bar on site in the main hotel that is air conditioned. If you order the martinis I would suggest asking them to be made with Adsolut vodka otherwise they will just put the cheap vodka in. Sandra was excellent and kept us constantly supplied with drinks. The lobby bar service was much better than last time we went. Some are sagging and can be quite uncomfortable. We did notice though that some of the sun beds now need to be replaced. Never had a problem getting sunbeds but we were up quite early. In the end we moved to a smaller jacuzzi type pool which was nice and quiet. Pools were nice although some days certain guests got a little rowdy. Drinks by the pool were brought to you again staff remembered what you drank when they got used to you. Again we loved the secrecy box so the room service was just put in there. Room service was great you can order on the app but when you pick a time it’s quite far in the future so we just rang down and it usually took 30-45 minutes. Some people ordered the foods to their sunbeds we just went and ordered not a big deal. The guacamole trolley was excellent and fresh guacamole was made in front of you and served. The staff remembered us each time we went from where we sat on other nights to the drinks we ordered. Out of all the a la cartes the Tamarindo (Mexican) was by far our favourite. If you are eating later than I heard sometimes there was a wait but that’s part of having reservation free dining. We like to eat early so arrives every night at 6pm and never had to wait. As our last visit no reservations were needed. The a la cartes as previously were great. Bacon was lovely if you like it crispy and the omelettes were made to order. Still this is a small difference I had noticed. Since the Hyatt have taken over ownership these are still available but are just added as decorative measures to certain yogurt dishes rather than being available as a stand alone dish. Every morning you could have fresh raspberries, blackberries and blueberries. The breakfast buffet was good the only negative that I would say was when we last went the selection of fresh fruit was better. Plenty of amenities are provided and you can always ask for more via the app. There is a rainfall and standard shower in a separate cubicle and big jacuzzi bath. The wi fi was really good and never let us down once.
The room was the same as when we last went, although maybe now in need of a little TLC,very spacious with one of the most comfortable beds ever. We were allocated room 1706 on the 7th floor with a lovely sea view. Check in was quick and easy with a welcome drink provided as soon as we arrived.
Upon arrival at the airport we got a taxi straight to the resort. I have just returned from my second visit to Secrets Vallarta Bay after another 14 night stay.
